MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Gov. Scott Walker plans to head into the north woods in hopes of bagging a buck when Wisconsin’s gun deer season opens Saturday.

Walker spokesman Tom Evenson said Thursday that Walker will join friends in the Vilas County woods on opening morning.

The traditional nine-day gun deer season gets underway shortly before sunrise on Saturday and runs through Nov. 27.
