SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) - A former elementary school teacher in Montgomery County is facing more charges of sexual abuse, in addition to earlier charges involving two 11-year-old girls.

Montgomery County Police tell local media that 50-year-old John Vigna was arrested Thursday after turning himself in to police. Vigna had been arrested in June for sexual abuse charges while he was a teacher at Cloverly Elementary School in Silver Spring. Now, three more victims have come to police saying Vigna also sexually abused them while they were students at Cloverly.

His new charges include three counts of third-degree sexual offense, two counts of abuse of a minor and one count of child abuse exploitation.

Vigna’s attorney, Thomas C. Morrow, says his client has “emphatically denied all the allegations.”
