AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - An Augusta woman has been sentenced to serve two additional years behind bars after admitting she was the getaway driver in theft that left an elderly woman with a bloody head gash and a broken pelvis.

The Portland Press Herald reports (https://bit.ly/2eNWkBD ) Star Black was sentenced after the 24-year-old pleaded guilty Thursday to charges including hindering apprehension or prosecution of another person charged in the April incident.

Now-83-year-old Bessie Goudreau says she was knocked to the ground and her purse was stolen in the parking lot of an Augusta supermarket.

Goudreau says she couldn’t walk and had to crawl to her car before a customer helped her. Goudreau was hospitalized for four days.

Black apologized in court. She says her drug habit made her do it.
