JAY, Okla. (AP) - Incumbent Delaware County Sheriff Harlan Moore has retained his position after an election vote recount.

Democratic challenger Mike Shambaugh requested a recount in his race against the incumbent after unofficial results showed him losing to the Republican candidate 7,797 to 7,790.

The Grand Lake News (https://bit.ly/2gorBM5 ) reports that the results of the recount show Moore won the election by a count of 7,797 to 7,792.

The final tally is expected to be certified by the Delaware County Election Board on Friday.
