NATCHEZ, Miss. (AP) - A Wilkinson County Correctional Center inmate who escaped from a work detail in Natchez remains at large.

Natchez Police Chief Daniel White tells The Natchez Democrat (https://bit.ly/2g2cG5L) police have been unable to locate 22-year-old Justin Lloyd, who was discovered missing during a head count by Natchez Public Works personnel after the work detail returned for lunch Wednesday afternoon.

Police say Lloyd was working with a group of inmates put up Christmas decorations in downtown Natchez.

White said while police do not believe Lloyd is dangerous, residents should be alert and call police if they spot Lloyd.

Lloyd began serving a 25-year sentence for identity theft and two counts of vehicle theft on July 21. He was convicted in Rankin County.
