ERIE, Pa. (AP) - A Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to 15 to 30 years behind bars after admitting his emotions lead him to shoot another man to death over a drug deal.

The Erie Times-News reports (https://bit.ly/2g3A3gE ) 27-year-old Kevington Cummings of Erie was also sentenced on Thursday to pay more than $13,000 in restitution and court costs.

Cummings had pleaded guilty in September to murdering 39-year-old Rodney Eddy in March 2015 in Erie.

The defense and prosecution agreed to a minimum sentence of 15 years under the plea.

The judge said he decided against a longer sentence due to Cummings’ age and lack of a prior criminal record.

Cummings said he can be rehabilitated. He said he wants to start a family and “do better things” upon his release.
