JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Mississippi Supreme Court Justice Michael K. Randolph says he is feeling fine after open-heart surgery to repair two leaking valves.

A court news release Friday says the 69-year-old from Hattiesburg expects to be released from Forrest General Hospital on Monday, a week after the surgery. He plans to return to work in mid-January.

Randolph had triple bypass surgery in 2006.

He said in early November that he exercises regularly and had been riding his bicycle 12 to 34 miles a day before he recently started having trouble breathing.

Randolph has four years left in his eight-year term. The court says he is ahead of schedule on his work, so his medical leave should not delay the resolution of cases on appeal.
