OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Omaha police have arrested a 20-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a woman in her home after asking to use her telephone.

Police say they arrested Ariath Mareng on Thursday on first-degree sexual assault and weapon use in a felony charges. Mareng was being held at the Douglas County correctional facility.

Authorities say Mareng’s accuser contacted them around 12:45 p.m. Wednesday and told them Mareng had displayed a handgun and sexually assaulted her once he was inside her home.

Online court records did not list an attorney for Mareng. The Associated Press generally does not name victims of sexual assault.
