PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Police are investigating after an unidentified man believed to be in his 40s or 50s was found dead on a northeast Philadelphia sidewalk.

Officers were dispatched to the city’s Holmesburg section after the body was discovered shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday in front of a building that houses a dental office and apartments.

The initial report was that the man was found unresponsive, but upon further inspection police found that he appeared to have suffered trauma to the front and back of his head.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Chief Inspector Scott Small says video from outside the building shows two people dragging the body out onto the sidewalk.

Two people have been taken into custody for questioning. Police are searching for three other persons of interest.
