NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a 15-year-old student accused of bringing an unloaded gun to a Norfolk high school.

The Norfolk Public Schools District said in a news release Thursday that the gun was discovered by another student inside a classroom at Maury High School. Afterward, authorities searched the room and recovered the unloaded gun.

The student suspected of bringing the weapon to school was detained without incident.

Norfolk Police Department spokesman Daniel Hudson says charges are pending.
