TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a teen has been arrested in a Tampa shooting that injured a toddler.

Police say the girl’s father was outside his home Wednesday when he was approached by several men who were acting in a threatening way. The father then went inside the home and that’s when the men began shooting.

Authorities say more than 15 shots were fired. A bullet hit the 21-month-old girl in her right thigh. She has since been released from the hospital.

Police apprehended a 17-year-old boy Thursday. He faces charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and shooting into an occupied building. Authorities say the girl’s father was the intended target.

A warrant has been issued for a second man connected to the shooting.
