PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - The season for hunting Canada geese has begun in Rhode Island.

The Rhode Island Department of Environmental says geese hunting begins Saturday and runs through Nov. 27. Hunting geese is also allowed from Dec. 3 until Jan. 30.

A separate duck hunting season is scheduled for Wednesday through Nov. 27 and again from Dec. 3 through Jan. 22.

The season for sea ducks begins on Thanksgiving Day.

There will also be a waterfowl identification workshop on Nov. 30 at the Cold Spring Community Center in North Kingstown.

It’s for people 12 years old and older who have completed a hunter safety course. More information is available at www.dem.ri.gov.
