WILLIMANTIC, Conn. (AP) - Willimantic Police are investigating a two-car crash that closed a section of Route 32 for nearly six hours.

Police say the head-on collision occurred around 2 a.m. on Saturday and a woman was extricated from her vehicle.

She was taken to Windham Hospital to be treated for a head injury, then airlifted to Hartford Hospital.

Police say two men in the other car were taken to Windham Hospital, treated and released.

WVIT-TV reports that investigators believe one of the cars crossed into oncoming traffic.

Route 32 reopened around 8 a.m.

Police didn’t publicly identify the individuals involved.

They’re asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact the Willimantic Police Department.
