RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Residents in three more Virginia localities are now eligible for federal funds to help with any damage caused by Hurricane Matthew.

Gov. Terry McAuliffe’s office announced Saturday the federal government had added Suffolk, Portsmouth and Hampton to the list of localities already eligible for funds.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Individual Assistance program provides direct funding to individuals and businesses. The aid can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, as well as low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses.

Eligible residents must apply directly to FEMA for the aid.
