MOUNTAIN BROOK, Ala. (AP) - A Mountain Brook woman has been accused of stabbing her 81-year-old parents.

News outlets report that 47-year-old Angela Hontzas was arrested Tuesday and charged with two counts of attempted murder.

Mountain Brook police Lt. Chuck Clark says officers who were responding to a 911 call at the family’s home Sunday afternoon found a husband and wife had both been stabbed multiple times.

Both victims were hospitalized and underwent surgery. Clark says detectives were able to interview both victims Monday afternoon. UAB Hospital officials said Elizabeth Hontzas is listed in critical condition, while a condition wasn’t immediately available for Theo Hontzas.

It is unclear whether Angela Hontzas has an attorney. Police have not announced a motive for the attack.
