SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) - The seventh annual “Monte’s March” will be held this week to increase awareness about hunger in local communities and help Massachusetts families in need this Thanksgiving.

The two-day, 43-mile walk in western Massachusetts will begin Monday morning in Springfield.

Walkers will make stops in Chicopee, Holyoke, Northampton, Hadley, Amherst and Sunderland. The walk ends in Greenfield.

Congressman Jim McGovern plans to walk the full 43-mile course, along with the founder of Monte’s March, radio host Monte Belmonte.

Congressmen Joe Kennedy III and Richard Neal will be among those joining part of the march. Local mayors, community leaders and students from Holyoke Community College, Greenfield Community College and The Greenfield Center School will also participate.
