VALDOSTA, Ga. (AP) - Valdosta Police have recovered stolen weapons while investigating reports of gunshots.

Police were dispatched to a home Tuesday morning in reference to people discharging firearms in a back yard.

Capt. Kari Williams tells The Valdosta Daily Times (https://bit.ly/2fNy3s2 ) that witnesses reported suspects leaving in a gray Nissan Maxima. Officers later found the vehicle and recovered several rifles and handguns.

The homeowner later gave officers consent to search the residence and officers found two more rifles and two shotguns.

Williams says a recovered handgun, rifle and shotgun had been reported stolen from a house in Lakeland.

Police arrested five people on various charges, including marijuana possession and receiving stolen property. It was unknown if any of them were represented by attorneys.
