KEARNY, N.J. (AP) - Authorities are trying to determine why a woman involved in a car crash jumped off a bridge into the Passaic River.

The crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. Saturday on the bridge in Kearny.

Authorities say the women jumped moments later. She was soon pulled from the water by firefighters and was taken to a hospital.

The woman did not appear to be seriously injured, but further details on her condition were not disclosed. Her name also has not been released.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Authorities say no one was injured in the accident.
