MCPHERSON, Kan. (AP) - Authorities say an 8-year-old boy has died in a farming accident in Kansas.

The McPherson County sheriff’s office says the accident occurred Saturday near Galva. The child was riding on a tractor with an adult when a piece of equipment came off and struck the boy, killing him.

No one else was injured in the accident.

Authorities haven’t released the child’s identity.
