BENSON, Ariz. (AP) - A mile-long stretch of eastbound Interstate 10 in southeastern Arizona will be closed for about an hour Sunday night or early Monday morning to allow passage of an oversized load.

The state Department of Transportation says the closure will allow the westbound truck hauling the oversized load to travel in eastbound lanes between State Routes 80 and 90 in Benson.

The department says the closure will begin between 10 p.m. Sunday and 2 a.m. Monday but that the truck’s extremely slow speed makes it hard to estimate when it will reach I-10.

The truck will get on I-10 at exit 303 and get off at exit 302.

The department says eastbound travelers could detour via State Routes 90, 82 and 80 but the detour might not save much time.
