INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Tyler Meurer rushed for 163 yards and four touchdowns and the Linton-Stockton Miners outlasted the Pioneer Panthers 34-20 to win their second consecutive Indiana class 1A state title game at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Trailing 20-19, Linton-Stockton faced a 4th and 5 with less than 10 minutes to play in the game when Meurer found Kendall Williams wide open down the sideline for a 27-yard gain. Meurer would punch in a Miners’ touchdown with less than eight minutes to play, then convert on the 2-point conversion to give Linton Stockton a 27-20 lead.

The Miners recovered a Panthers’ fumble in Pioneer territory with five minutes remaining in the game. With less than three minutes to play, Meurer converted a 4th and 1, inside the five-yard line, setting up Linton-Stockton for another touchdown and a 14-point lead.
