ANKENY, Iowa (AP) - Police have arrested a man they believe got out of his car at a busy Ankeny intersection and shot a handgun into another car.

The Des Moines Register reports (https://dmreg.co/2ggNZDD ) that the shooting happened Thanksgiving night at a heavily-populated intersection surrounded by restaurants and stores.

Witnesses say the man got out of his car, knocked on the driver’s window of a car beside his, then fired his gun into the car before returning to his own car and speeding off.

Polk County Sheriff’s deputies soon stopped a vehicle matching the description of the shooter’s and detained three people. Detectives arrested 28-year-old Osiel Moreno after questioning him and the two others.

Moreno’s been charged with two weapons counts. A phone number for Moreno could not be found Saturday.
