BOSTON (AP) - Santa Claus is coming to town. Beantown, to be precise.

The jolly old elf is due to fly in by helicopter - not reindeer-drawn sleigh - at 10 a.m. Saturday near Boston Common’s Frog Pond.

Weather permitting, he’ll be aboard a Boston MedFlight chopper to deliver a special message about staying safe during the holidays.

Boston MedFlight and the city will provide refreshments to families. Saturday’s event runs until noon.

Organizers say if the weather is inclement, Santa will arrive by ambulance instead.
