TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a 29-year-old man suspected of shooting and wounding a Topeka police detective.

The Topeka Capital-Journal reports (https://j.mp/2fCq0AK) that the suspect was booked into the Shawnee County jail Friday in connection with the Nov. 5 shooting of police Detective Brian Hill.

The suspect was also shot twice and was recently released from the hospital. He’s being held on $1 million bond. It’s unclear if formal charges have been filed.

Hill, a 25-year veteran of the department, underwent surgery and is expected to make a full recovery after being shot twice while trying to capture the suspect after a convenience store robbery.
