PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Providence police are searching for suspects in two unrelated, early morning stabbings.

Authorities say a 22-year-old man was stabbed at about 2 a.m. Sunday during a disturbance at Club Euphoria on Union Street. Police say they stopped the man after he ran away from the club and he was taken to Rhode Island Hospital. Police say he was uncooperative.

Less than an hour later, officers responded to another stabbing on Hammond Street. Police say a 28-year-old man was stabbed by a person wearing a black hoodie when he went outside to smoke a cigarette.

The two men’s names and conditions haven’t been released.

Police are asking witnesses to come forward. It’s not clear what prompted the stabbings.
