MIDDLETOWN, N.J. (AP) - A fast-moving fire at an adult condominium community in Monmouth County has destroyed at least three units and seriously injured an 82-year-old man.

Middletown police say the fire broke out shortly before 4 p.m. Saturday in a second-floor unit in the Shadow Lake Village community.

Emergency responders found the injured man outside the building. He was suffering from smoke inhalation and had serious burns to his hands, heads and face.

The man was flown to a burn center, but further details on his condition have not been disclosed. His name was not released.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation Sunday.
