INDUSTRY, Pa. (AP) - State police say the driver of a car didn’t stop after fatally striking a pedestrian on a western Pennsylvania highway.

Troopers from the Beaver barracks say the death is suspicious, but have yet to release the name of the 25-year-old man who was killed.

Police say the victim was hit by a vehicle shortly after 2 a.m. on Route 68, which is known locally as Midland Beaver Road. The accident happened in Industry, a borough about 30 miles northwest of Pittsburgh.

The highway remained closed for several hours while police investigated.

Police say the car involved may have been a white Honda.
