PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Providence police say they arrested two people after a report of gunshots fired, a car chase that ended in an accident and a foot pursuit across a highway.

Police say they responded to a report of shots fired on Bridgham Street on Saturday evening.

Police told The Providence Journal they pulled over an SUV and arrested a juvenile in the back seat after officers found a revolver in a bag.

Police say other officers responding to the gunshots arrested another man after he led officers on a car chase, crashed into another vehicle and was apprehended after a foot chase onto Interstate 95

Eugene Gibbs was charged with reckless driving and other crimes. It’s not clear if the 21-year-old Providence man has a lawyer who could respond to the allegations.
