WESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Lewis County High School student groups are planning a holiday fundraiser for a flood-ravaged community in Clay County.

Lewis County High Principal Derek Lambert tells The Exponent Telegram (https://bit.ly/2fFv1sc ) that students and staff will collect donated items next Friday through Sunday for students of H.E. White Elementary School in Bomont. Lambert says a Lewis County bus will be parked at the Weston Walmart for the “Stuff the Bus” event.

Items being sought include clothes, coats, shoes, home goods, toys and gift cards. Cash donations also will be accepted.

The efforts are being spearheaded by Lewis County High’s Honor Society, student council and sociology classes.

Honor Society president Natalie Rogers says the fundraiser is meant to ensure that Bomont residents aren’t overlooked this holiday season.
