CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - The state Game and Fish Department’s Wyoming Hunting and Fishing Heritage Expo may be returning to Casper.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/2gCwLRQ ) that pending final approval by the Game and Fish Commission, the expo will return to the Casper Events Center in May.

The expo was canceled in 2013 following a discussion about reallocating resources and budget cuts when the Wyoming Legislature voted against raising fishing and hunting license fees. Expos cost the department about $250,000 to $300,000.

Department spokesman Renny MacKay says since 2013, the department has received more money from tax revenue on hunting and fishing items, meaning they can again afford to host the expo.
