JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Jackson police are investigating the city’s 61st homicide of the year.

The police department says in a news release Monday that 25-year-old Lewis Coleman was shot and killed late Sunday at a home in west Jackson.

The release says at least two men fired several shots in the home through a front window, and Coleman was struck in the chest.

No arrests were made immediately. Police did not release the names of the suspects but said the men were believed to have been armed with an assault rifle and a pistol.

The killing remains under investigation.
