BOSTON (AP) - Officials say three people have been hospitalized after a car collided with a Logan Express bus in Boston.

Officials say the car slammed into the bus at an intersection in the city’s Chelsea neighborhood early Monday.

No passengers were on the bus. Police say the 47-year-old bus driver suffered minor injuries.

Fire officials say the car caught fire after its occupants had gotten out.

Police say the car’s 27-year-old driver and his two passengers were taken to a hospital with serious injuries. They are expected to survive.

Police say speed likely contributed to the crash and the car’s driver was ticketed for speeding. The crash remains under investigation.

Police say a third passenger in the car ran from the scene.
