EVESHAM TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - A police chase that began in Voorhees ended with a multi-vehicle crash in Evesham Township that sent several people to the hospital and ignited at least one car.

Police say seven vehicles were involved in the accident, which occurred at the intersection of state Route 73 and Evesham Road around 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

The suspect under pursuit reportedly rammed into multiple vehicles, setting at least one on fire.

Six people were hospitalized for various minor injuries sustained in the crash. The suspect was taken into custody.

Police have not yet revealed the suspect’s identity or what charges he’s facing. It remains unclear what prompted the chase.
