COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Police in Columbus say they expect to bring murder charges against a man whose wife was found fatally stabbed at an apartment in the city’s Far East Side.

Officers were dispatched to a residence at the Pheasant Run Apartments around 5 a.m. Sunday following reports of a disturbance. There police found 26-year-old Carmen Sanchez-Capellan suffering from numerous stab wounds including a slashed neck.

Sanchez-Capellan was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after emergency medical personnel arrived.

The victim’s 24-year-old husband was also found at the apartment with what police have described as self-inflicted stab wounds.

He was rushed to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center in critical condition. Police intend to charge the man with killing Sanchez-Capellan.

Witnesses told police that a heated argument between the couple turned violent.
