PASADENA, Md. (AP) - Police in Maryland say a woman stabbed her grandmother, saying she was going to “cut the demons out of her.”

A statement from Anne Arundel County Police says officers were called to a home in Pasadena on Sunday morning and found an 82-year-old woman suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Police say the elderly woman was treated at Shock Trauma in Baltimore, but her 20-year-old granddaughter remains hospitalized for evaluation. Police say she’ll be charged with attempted murder and assault when she is released.
