LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Forecasters have dropped a tornado watch for three counties in far southern Arkansas.

The watch was in effect until 5 p.m. Monday for Columbia, Lafayette and Union counties, but was dropped in late afternoon.

It still covered much of central and southern Louisiana and extreme east Texas. The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma, says a few tornadoes are possible in those areas and in Mississippi on Monday, along with wind gusts of up to 70 mph and large hail.

Meanwhile, much of Arkansas is seeing heavy rainfall and strong winds.

Entergy Arkansas reported said just more than 400 homes and businesses were without power as of Monday afternoon.
