CONCORD, Calif. (AP) - A shooting outside a Bay Area movie theater injured one person and prompted the evacuation of the theater.

The East Bay Times reports (https://bit.ly/2gOEXkM ) that the shooting on Sunday evening occurred outside Brenden Theatres in Concord after a security guard shot a man who was chased from the theater.

Concord police Cpl. Christopher Blakely says the suspect yelled at security that he had a gun, prompting the guard to shoot the suspect two or three times.

Blakely says it is unclear whether the person who was shot was attending a movie at the theater or a trespasser.

The person shot was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The movie theater was evacuated and then closed for the remainder of the evening.
