SPRINGVILLE, Utah (AP) - Authorities have arrested a man accused of driving a tree-trimming truck into a patrol car, injuring a Utah County sheriff’s deputy.

The Deseret News reports (https://bit.ly/2gNsNc3 ) 37-year-old Jesse Gardner Anderson was taken into custody Sunday. He has been jailed on suspicion of aggravated murder on a police officer and several other charges.

The sheriff’s office says a deputy saw Anderson run two stop signs in a truck owned by his employer, Chester’s Tree Service.

The Springville man allegedly refused to pull over and led the deputy on a chase before backing into the patrol car, pushing the vehicle more than 60 feet.

Sheriff’s Sgt. Spencer Cannon says the deputy was taken to a hospital and treated for minor injuries.

Anderson was later arrested at a duplex without further incident.
