PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Philadelphia police say a young man was shot by one of two men he says followed him out of a bar.

The shooting occurred Sunday night.

Police say at least five shots were fired at the 21-year-old victim, who suffered a gunshot wound to the hip.

Some news outlets initially identified the victim as a transgender woman. But police say the victim identifies himself as male.

Police say they don’t know the motive for the attack.

The shooting remains under investigation.

The story has been corrected to show the victim identifies himself as a male, not a transgender woman.
