CONVENT, La. (AP) - A third official in the administration of indicted St. James Parish President Timmy Roussel has pleaded not guilty to charges of malfeasance.

The Advocate reports (https://bit.ly/2gRIkrd) Assistant Finance Director Ashley Poche entered two not guilty pleas Monday before state District Judge Tess Stromberg.

Prosecutors in St. James have accused Poche of completing campaign finance reports for Parish Councilman Ralph Patin while on the clock and using a parish fax machine to submit the report. The indictment says Patin paid her $100.

Poche has also been accused of excessive private use of her government cellphone.

The parish grand jury handed up the indictments of Poche, Roussel and Blaise Gravois, Roussel’s director of operations, on Sept. 28.

Prosecutors have accused Roussel and Gravois of using parish employees, equipment, materials and cash to benefit private companies and landowners.
