SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - The Utah Transit Authority will provide a special rail service option to downtown Salt Lake City for holiday shoppers.

The Deseret News reports (https://bit.ly/2fw4TRU) that people can use the 10-minute service on the TRAX Blue Line for the next three Saturdays from 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Regular 20-minute service is expected to resume Christmas Eve as many stores are expected to close early that day.

TRAX, local buses and FrontRunner will not run Christmas Day and will operate on a Sunday schedule on the observed holiday, which is Dec. 26.
