LOS ANGELES (AP) - Police say nobody was hurt and no children were aboard when a bullet struck the windshield of a school bus in South Los Angeles.

Officer Liliana Preciado says the bus was not targeted in the shooting around 6:30 a.m. Thursday.

She says shots were fired nearby and a stray bullet hit the bus. Witnesses say they heard about five gunshots. Police are investigating and searching for suspects involved in the shooting.

Only the driver was on the bus.
