BLUE BELL, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say a police officer was hurt in a hit-and-run in a Philadelphia suburb.

The officer had been walking across a roadway Thursday evening in Whitpain Township when police say he was hit by a small black sedan with tinted windows.

Police say the sedan stopped briefly then fled.

The officer, who hasn’t been publicly identified, has been hospitalized in stable condition with a leg injury. He was expected to be released Thursday night.

No arrests have been made.

An investigation is ongoing.
