EDGEWATER, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a worker was injured when an empty fuel tank being air tested exploded at a central Florida boat plant.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal (https://goo.gl/zW8V4k ) reports that the explosion occurred Tuesday afternoon at the Boston Whaler facility in Edgewater.

Volusia County spokeswoman Shelley Szafraniec says workers were pressure-testing an aluminum fuel tank below deck of a large boat that was on dry dock when it exploded.

Officials say the worker was taken to a New Smyrna Beach hospital under trauma alert as a precaution. The man’s name and condition weren’t immediately released.
