BOSTON (AP) - Massachusetts gas prices are on the way up but remain well below the national average.

AAA Northeast reported Tuesday that self-serve, regular gas rose 3 cents in the past week to an average of $2.13 per gallon.

That’s 13 cents lower than the national average for the grade, but 2 cents per gallon higher than the Massachusetts price a year ago.

AAA found self-serve, regular selling for as low as $1.99 and as high as $2.39 per gallon.
