REPORT: TENNESSEE MAN DIED AFTER RIDING DISNEY’S STAR TOURS

The September death of the Memphis, Tennessee, man was recorded in a list of serious ride-related injuries and illnesses that the major theme parks provide the state of Florida on a quarterly basis. The man had a pre-existing heart condition, and that the cause of death was listed as hypertensive cardiovascular disease, with contributing factors including obesity.

DIVE TEAMS FIND BODY OF MISSING TAMPA BOATER

Tampa police said in a news release that Mario Lucero Saenz was in a boat with his fiancee on Friday afternoon when it hit a sandbar. He jumped off the boat to push it off the sandbar, but went under. As the boat drifted, he attempted to remain afloat and his fiancee tossed a life vest to him. Police say he didn’t resurface and she called 911.

EARLY VOTING STARTING IN BATTLEGROUND FLORIDA

Fifty counties will open up polling places on Monday for early voting, including the state’s largest counties Broward, Duval, Hillsborough, Miami-Dade, Orange and Palm Beach. The remaining counties will start up in the coming week. Election Day is Nov. 8.

HURRICANE NICOLE SWELLS WASH SEA TURTLES ASHORE IN FLORIDA

By Sunday, the Brevard Zoo Sea Turtle Healing Center had taken in 366 struggling turtles that were rescued from the beach, and 297 of the washback turtles survived. Sea Turtle Rehabilitation assistant Shanon Gann says most of the turtles were likely exhausted by the time they reached the beach.

2 BOYS KILLED, 7 INJURED WHEN FLORIDA SUV OVERTURNS

The Florida Highway Patrol says the crash happened Saturday night in Fernandina Beach, which is north of Jacksonville. Killed were 9-year-old Nicholai Capallia and 8-year-old Nehemiah Capallia-Bird. An incident report says the driver failed to negotiate a right-hand curve in the road and the SUV veered across the road and into a grassy shoulder. It hit a utility pole and overturned.
