SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah (AP) - Police in Utah say a homeless man was hospitalized in critical condition after he walked into a convenience store with a stab wound in his back.

South Salt Lake police Detective Gary Keller tells the Deseret News (https://bit.ly/2f8Jv4H ) it appeared the 40-year-old man was injured Friday night at an encampment off East 3900 South.

An assailant wasn’t found or identified.

Keller says the man wasn’t cooperative with investigators and gave very little information about what happened.
