HONOLULU (AP) - Early voting has begun in Hawaii for the general election.

People can walk into special polling stations in every county to cast their votes. Hawaii residents who are U.S. citizens can also register to vote if they haven’t already done so.

Early voting runs from Tuesday, Oct. 25 through Saturday, Nov. 5.

There’s at least one early voting location on Kauai, Maui, Molokai, Oahu and the Big Island.

Many people in Hawaii take advantage of early voting. Nearly half of the votes cast in Hawaii in the 2012 presidential election were through early voting or mail-in ballots.
