RENO, Nev. (AP) - Authorities are looking for a Nevada man who was found guilty of sex offenses after failing to appear at his trial.

KRNV-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2dILf4n ) that the Washoe County District Attorney’s Office says it has issued an arrest warrant for Selvin Zecena-Valdez of Sparks and that the D.A.’s office, Sparks Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service are looking for him.

Police believe Zecena-Valdez fled after court on Oct. 20 and failed to appear for his cross-examination on Oct. 21.

The trial had to continue under Nevada law. A jury found Zecena-Valdez guilty of four counts of sexual assault on a child under 14, five counts of lewdness with a child under 14 and one count of attempted sexual assault on a child.
