SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - California Highway Patrol has confiscated more than a quarter ton of marijuana in El Dorado County.

The Sacramento Bee reports (https://bit.ly/2eaP9iG ) that Highway Patrol troopers on Sunday noticed the smell of freshly cut marijuana coming wrong two truck-and-trailer rigs near Placerville and used drug dogs to confirm the presence of the pot.

The drivers were stopped buy officers in separate locations and questioned. Ultimately, the trailers were opened and officer found about 500 pounds of freshly cut and processed marijuana.

Two suspects were taken into custody in connection to the incident.
